Sophie To is a Researcher at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she supports the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Board of Directors Support project, the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) project, and the My ROAD project.
Sophie specializes in qualitative and quantitative health communication research; storytelling through oral history, comedy, and multimedia exhibits; and community-engaged initiatives to foster health and well-being. Sophie is committed to helping improve health and well-being for all, with a recent focus on working with Asian Americans (especially in the United States South), people with disabilities, and youth and young adults.
Sophie received her PhD in Health Behavior from UNC-Chapel Hill, where her dissertation focused on how Asian American comedy delivers messages about health.
