Communications Lead

Mandy Chan is a Communications Assistant in the Education Statistics program at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). Her primary responsibilities include supporting the America’s Children production cycle by providing desktopping and project management assistance and monitoring the traffic of the Standards and Assessments webpages and reporting on their quarterly performance. She also supports conference promotions by creating social media graphics and assists with the creation of mockups and wireframes for web projects. Chan has supported the Focus on NAEP website by creating a mockup of the SES Index page. She is passionate about UI/UX and is proficient with prototyping tools such as Figma and UXPin. She also has experience with social media outreach, Airtable, wireframing, and editing and creating graphics using Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
Previously, Chan interned with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a Student Data Science Intern, where she created Python scripts to help with data parsing and cleansing. She also interned with AIR as a Communications Assistant Intern before joining as a full-time Communications Assistant. Chan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
